The strongest sounds were just under her last three ribs. I could hear fairly loud clicks and bumps and swishes :) I wish I could record it. It's certainly not terribly dynamic but it's amazing. I was just telling Cat and Wendy that I was having a hard time 'connecting' to the puppies because there seem to be so many of them. In the last two litters I could visualize them and felt at an early stage that I was already getting to know them. I know it sounds crazy. With Nickel's pups I had some kind of block until I heard their sounds. Now when I put my hand on her belly I feel like I have some type of connection.
Probably a little of that :) but also...I think I've been afraid to get excited since her last breeding didnt take and i was so crushed. There are always things that can go wrong with a pregnancy, even beyond delivery. I think my emotions have been guarded because of that. But, It's all sinking in now. Yipee.

ReplyDeleteMaybe it's harder too, because Nickel IS your baby. Hard to think of her as a mama dog, maybe.
